Cummins Sales and Service, Bakersfield Branch is looking for an experienced Office Manager. The Office Manager provides front office support.

Our Distribution Business consists of 17 company-owned distributors and 10 joint ventures, covering 90 countries and territories through 233 locations. Through this network, trained personnel sell and distribute Cummins-branded products, related services and
broader solutions such as maintenance contracts, engineering services and customized integrated products. Our integrated businesses demand the talents and creativity of individuals with a wide range of skills and experience.
This role encompasses a wide-range of tasks and support including Receptionist duties, meeting coordination, business travel and recognition programs, incoming/outgoing mail, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, petty cash and accounts receivable duties.The Office Manager supports the service department as needed and coordinates safety activities.
Research purchasing requests and issue purchase orders for non-service-related items, purchase Cummins/Onan literature, tools and promotional items, monitor office supplies and place orders for needed supplies.
Manage phone system, answer incoming calls, transfer calls, use paging system, and assist with overflow of calls.
Monitor office equipment: postage meter, fax and copy machine.
Manage incoming and outgoing mail; distribute inter-office mail; monitor and change back up data tapes daily; clean machine once a month or as needed.
Organize meetings including Quarterly Meetings: post notices, keep attendance logs and minutes, order and set up lunch and/or refreshments as required; coordinate monthly birthday recognition.
Monitor and balance petty cash box daily, make bank deposits as required, batch out credit card machine daily, complete credit card deposit sheet and forward to Corporate, copy checks and send to lock box twice a week, create check deposit records as needed,monitor check book and issue checks as required, assure all month-end reports are processed each month, utilize weekly A/R report, may make collection calls on balances =/< 90 days and report to Director, Operations weekly.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Proficiency in MS Office preferred, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Must be customer service oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced, ever changing environment

Must be organized, flexible, self-motivated and proactive.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to learn new skills and adapt to new procedures and concepts. Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required
