This is an exciting opportunity in Chesapeake, VA for an Operations Manager.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Responsible for overall management of the parts and servicedepartments
Manages the Managers of Engine Service, Power Generation &Parts
Responsible for setting and meeting/exceeding goals of eachdepartment
Managing the Profit & Loss statements for the branch
Builds relationships with customers and electrical contractorsattending meetings and site visits as required
Responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory to ensure thatthe needs of customers are met and products are shipped to the customer as percustomers’ specifications
Ensure that quality service is received by our customers
Ensure that only products that meet or exceed the Company’sspecifications for quality are sourced, where possible, from ISO 9000registered suppliers
Responsibility includes the disposition of non-conformances,corrective and preventive actions and appropriate record keeping in parts andservice
Meets ales and expense budgets for the Parts and Servicedepartments
Supervise parts and service employees ensuring that annualIndividual Development Planning sessions are conducted with each employee, andthat required training s delivered to employees
Cummins Power Systems focuses strongly upon safety in allaspects of our operations. The successful candidate must likewise considersafety as paramount and demonstrate a substantial awareness of work placesafety and environmental knowledge.
Creates, maintains and promotes a safe clean workplace.
20-25% travel may be required for training and/or conferences,customer interaction.
Skills, Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. MBA a big plus!
5 years’ experience in related industry with managing orleading an office/branch with a diverse employee workforce.
Cummins product knowledge highly preferred.
Technical/mechanical competence; knowledge of the industry andwarranties
Experience managing a P&L for a branch/office preferred.
Sales experience a plus
Strong computer aptitude and knowledge (Microsoft Office, LotusNotes, BMS, Excel,etc.)
Applicant must be self-motivated and have excellentcommunication, negotiation, interpersonal & leadership skills with a focuson safety.
Must be customer service focused and be a team player
Have the ability to work flexible hours
Base Salary commensurate with experience.
