This is an exciting opportunity for Market Strategy and Planning Managers #IN636 in Columbus, Indiana.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Manage market strategy research and planning in support of the strategic planning process.

  • Lead market strategic development by designing and implementing market penetration plans and programs to accomplish business plans and organizational goals targeting business performance.

  • Fully understand and utilize Market Positioning tools and apply them on a daily basis.

  • Develop and update market summary dashboards employing relevant market data.

  • Leverage competitive research and perform market analysis for assigned market or region to make strategic marketing recommendations.

  • Communicate and present critical data, report summaries, market analyses, and strategic recommendations to all levels of management.

  • Work with product managers to manage product lifecycle, product line business plans, and cost reduction programs.

  • Provide input to support product line pricing and promotional strategy.

  • Utilize knowledge of many markets as well as the ability to deploy local and/or global processes to attain relative market information and anticipate competitive action/reactions (game theory).

  • Coach and motivate business development staff and provide guidance and direction on problems and issues.

  • Delegate work assignments considering employee skills and development needs as required.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from financial systems, and execute business cases.

  • Utilize knowledge that the leverage pricing has on financial results and regularly comply with tax and duty structures.

  • Form strong relationships with key stakeholders and make proper judgment calls in regards to strategy through Market Opportunity Prioritization.

  • Identify department issues, problems, and opportunities to support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Track the execution of initiatives and projects. Synthesize environmental data, stakeholder analysis, and market force data within financial and business analysis necessary to develop insights and solutions to support strategic business decisions.

  • Manage strategic decisions for cross-functional teams and communicate engineering and marketing strategy topics clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.

Skills and Experience Required

Experience to include:

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • Positions require a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field and three years of experience as a Strategy or Marketing Manager or Specialist, or related position.

  • Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field and six years of experience as a Strategy or Marketing Manager or Specialist, or related position.

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience plus bonus. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
