This is an exciting opportunity in Darlington for a Test Technology Manager .
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Manage the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, buildings and grounds.Manage and direct the daily activities of the facilities department, including significant budget responsibility for expense and capital expenses including capital expenses requests and utilities expense management strategies.Oversee contractors for facilities renovation projects entailing mechanical, structural, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Condition (HVAC), electrical, production floor arrangement, etc. ; ensure that vendors meet corporate standards and deliver promised services and materials.Coach and motivate staff; provide guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegate works assignments considering employee skills and development needs.Manage financial controls and risk ensuring operations are executed within established budgetsIdentify opportunities to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead a multi skilled team across Electrical, Mechanical and Electronics systems. Lead Mid Management to deliver against targets for maintenance and calibration.
Must have detailed knowledge of High Voltage Electrical systems’ to ‘Knowledge and awareness of High Voltage Electrical Systems
Lead calibration and maintenance of 12 test cells, associated building management systems specific to engine testing requirements (such as, but not limited to: steam generator, waste water/glycol, fuel system, urea distribution) to meet ISO standards as well as CMI standards
Manage and Lead discussions with Instrumentation and Control suppliers, such as AVL and Horiba.
Be a contributor to Global Lab Ops best practices
Lead ongoing facility improvements, to align with corporate goals of energy reduction.
Lead and Manage daily breakdown and fault finding.
Skills and Experience Required:
Must have detailed knowledge of High Voltage Electrical systems (11,000 Volts) down to instrumentation voltage.
Be the Electrical Safety Coordinator for DTO – be fully aware of all applicable electrical safety standards, primarily 17 th Edition, Arc Flash, PAT Testing’s. Ensure team and suitably trained in all aspects required for Lab Ops
Be aware and ensure compliance of all pressure vessel regulations, ensure all pressure vessels are suitably managed within Lab Ops.
Be aware and ensure compliance to all Water regulations, including Potable Water, and Waste water.
Significant experience, including supervisory experience, required.
Must hold Engine testing experience
Must hold a strong understanding of site IT Equipment
Strong Communication skills
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
- College, university, or equivalent degree required.
