To be eligible for our 12 Month work placement you must be a university student who has a placement year option as part of their degree programme.

We run an exciting 12 month placement . Informal training, and work on projects that add true value to the business. The placement scheme is a great place to start a career with Cummins and you will experience not only the skills and work aspect, but the culture and core values of the business.

The opportunity:

Working under the guidance of the OEM Lead Customer Support Manager, the student will be involved in all aspects of the Customer Support group; assisting to provide technical support for Cummins Automotive products and integrated Emission Solution technology throughout Europe.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the identification, resolution and implementation of fixes on key product issues with Automotive OEM’s.

  • Initial data capture and Warranty claim information processing.

  • Site visitation and field investigation for potential product issues.

  • Supporting OEM account teams in finding resolutions to Customer issues.

  • Component failure assessment and processing.

Training Provided:

  • Emerging product problem identification and definition.

  • Support product resolution forums:Rapid Problem Solving & 6 Sigma Tools

  • Hands on failure analysis and site investigations.

  • Use of electronic service tools for Cummins products.

  • Identification of Key Customer issues through data analysis.

  • OEM warranty processing and development.

  • Working with OEM’s, Customers, Suppliers and Distributors Globally.

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Excellent computing skills.

  • Good knowledge of MS Office.

  • Team work.

  • Communication skills: verbal and written.

  • Task prioritisation.

Education:

  • Candidates should be studying for an Engineering related Degree.
