Currently, we are recruiting for a Parts Person for our Service Center in Duluth, MN . This position is responsible for interacting directly with customers by performing a variety of duties in the service center parts department including retrieving part numbers, preparing purchase orders, and processing sales.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties adhering to Cummins Safety Policies and Procedures

  • Provide excellent internal and external customer support encompassing “Customer Support Excellence” philosophy and standards

  • Actively practice the Cummins Business Code of Conduct including setting an example of ethical behavior

  • Supply parts to In-Shop and Field Service Technicians

  • Order, receive, and store parts

  • Fill requisitions, work orders, and requests for materials, tools, and other stock items- distribute items to technicians

  • Deliver parts to Iron Range customers weekly

Qualifications

Skills

  • Prepare parts returns and perform credits for dealers

  • Enter records, add new parts, and generate and submit stock orders

  • Ability to manage parts inventory

  • Must be detail oriented and maintain necessary records in the parts department

  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets and shelves and/or convey order to packing station/shipping area

  • Package, ship, and receive parts as needed

  • Provide parts counter customer support

  • Provide phone support

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment

  • Strong computer and keyboard skills to complete work (i.e. parts look up, invoicing, etc.)

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a parts department environment.

  • Experience handling diesel engine and/or power generation parts preferred

  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record required

Physical Requirements

  • Candidate must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing and meet all physical requirements for the position.

  • Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear as required.

  • Physically able to perform essential functions of the job, including bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 75 pounds without assistance and 100 pounds with assistance

  • Tasks will require bending, stretching, standing, twisting, and climbing up and down equipment throughout the work shift

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience .
