Cummins South Pacific’s Industry-Based Learning (IBL) program is a one year paid employment opportunity which aims to provide undergraduate students the opportunity to gain invaluable professional and business experience in a corporate environment. The program will provide structured mentoring, an intern buddy system, as well as training in the professional environment.

Each individual department is responsible for contributing to ongoing functional excellence, and to providing support in this function for the South Pacific region.

Upon completion of the IBL program, students will be equipped with the skills, networks and capabilities which will greatly enhance their employability upon completion of their studies.

Working as a Marketing Intern for a global organisation will open many career doors in the future. You will gain hands on experience in our Kilsyth Office and have the opportunity to work with many internal stakeholders across the business.

Working closely with the Sales Team and Marketing the Sales Intern will assist with and be involved in the following;

  • Sales analysis to assist sales team with month end reporting, customer reports and ad hoc reports to analyse the business

  • Development of excel sales dashboards and other useful tools for sales team

  • Sales operation tasks to assist sales team in managing opportunities pipeline and CRM system

  • Management of Rebate claims and Rebate management processes / files

  • Preparation of tender submission files

  • Project management and sales initiatives including the development of timelines, metrics and deliverables

  • Data collection and analysis with the intent of presenting recommendations to the business on how to increase market share and brand awareness

  • High quality professional day-to-day execution of tasks and special projects

  • Assist in brainstorming and idea planning

  • Attend meetings and liaise across different departments

  • Personal Health and Safety

  • Administrative work

  • A sound understanding of Sales and Marketing concepts and how Sales and Marketing can add value to a business

  • A highly analytical and data minded approach

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as effectively as part of a team

  • Commitment to learn, grow and develop in a business environment

  • Demonstrate high levels of motivation, maturity and professionalism

  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn other applications

  • Excellent customer service skills

Candidate must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree to engage in this 12 Month Internship program. The candidate must also be willing to learn from others on the job and inside a specific team, and be curious to explore the different functions and unique roles at Cummins.
