This is an exciting opportunity in Nashville, TN for a Global Payroll Operations Director.

This role will drive process standardization, automation, and improve controls to ensure process effectiveness and efficiencies for global payroll operations for over 55, 000 employees.

  • Identifies,defines and documents business requirements for process and system enhancementsand/or new functionality

  • Manage allstatutory and regulatory compliance requirements

  • Governanceof ADP - selected third party global payroll provider

  • Ability tocollaborate effectively and work across multiple functional areas and withdiverse user communities

  • Excellentleadership abilities, including growing and developing people, strategic andanalytical thinking, negotiation and change management in a globalenvironment

  • Extensive experienceimplementing payroll andtime management platforms globally

Qualifications

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Businessor related field required.

  • CPP preferred

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION:

  • Leads company-wide payroll operations responsible for the processing ofmultiple employee payroll cycles in multiple regions.

  • PreviousADP and Oracle experience required

  • A minimumof 8-10 years payroll operations experience preferred

  • Ensures accurate and timely delivery of payroll payment and reportingactivities in compliance with legislative requirements, company policies andinternal controls.

  • Ensures payroll strategies, policies, processes and delivery are alignedwith legislative and business requirements; ensures the accuracy andcompleteness of process documentation.

  • Ensures payroll processing and accounting activities comply withinternal and external control requirements and coordinates responses to auditorinquiries.

  • Oversees the documentation and improvement of procedures for thepreparation, documentation, and disbursement of all payroll checks, taxes, andemployee benefit payments.

  • Directs accurate and timely processing of year-end activities ensuringthat activities are managed with payroll service providers.

  • Maintains a strong understanding of new and existing tax and otherpayroll related legislation.

  • Directs the relationship with outside payroll service providers; managesthe most complex issues with third party service providers; understands andchampions system changes, upgrades, and government mandated changes to payroll.

  • Leads the development of operational plans, leads projects andinitiatives focused on achieving performance excellence in payroll design anddelivery.

  • Keeps up to date with new trends and technologies in the payroll area;leads best practice reviews and other external research.

  • Budgetary oversight responsibilities for company-wide payrollexpenditures

  • Coaches and mentors payroll managers and staff (a direct staff of 6-8); assigns work according to availability, skills, anddevelopmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to directreports.

KEY ATTRIBUTES:

Payroll Administration – Possesses and can apply the knowledge of complex issues related to payroll reporting, taxation and compliance. Extensive experience or formal education in the areas of accounting or finance. Trains and coaches others on payroll processes, laws, taxation.

HumanResources Data Management – Understands information linkages among multiple systems of record. Experienced auditing and analyzing data to ensure data completeness and accuracy, conducts predictive analysis and recommends potential business actions.

Finance Internal Controls - Proficient in the application of finance internal controls knowledge / skill in a wide range of work situations. Basic understanding of IT control objectives.

Project Management – Capable of effectively managing complex projects with little to no guidance.

FinanceProcess Documentation – Experience preparing process maps and/or control matrices. Can use process documentation appropriately as part of their work.

Taxationof Employee Compensation and Benefits – Has an advanced level of knowledge and proficiency in applying the principles of the taxation of employee compensation and benefits.

Compensation: Base salary commensurate with experience.
