We are currently seeking a dynamic Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) professional to join our team and support our dealership network throughout the Western Region. Reporting to the HSE Director, this role will require you to work collaboratively with other members of the HSE team and various stakeholders across the South Pacific region to ensure the effective creation and implementation of all initiates and projects focused on the continuous improvement of Health and Safety Practises within Cummins.

The primary focus role of this role is centered upon partnering with the Western Region branch network to provide HSE technical advice to all employees and leaders with the purpose of, preventing potential harm to workers, property, the environment and the organisation to achieve our zero harm vision.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Liaise and collaboratively work with other members of the HSE team, internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective HSE management systems, reporting /analysis and functional HSE support

  • Conducting auditing of the HSE Management System across the region to support and sustain the Cummins ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 certifications.

  • Facilitating and lead as required, risk assessment activities and incident investigations

  • To lead and manage the overall HSE performance improvement such as communicating HSE requirements, managing HSE plan objectives and projects

  • Facilitating HSE training programs and as required assist in the development and evolution of both online and face to face training programs

  • Ensuring systems and practices are in place to support effective risk elimination, minimisation and management activities

  • Maintaining HSE metrics and data, management systems, and complete corporate and local reporting requirements

  • Monitoring and continually improving local policies and procedures to ensure they are effective and compliant to the Cummins corporate requirements as well as that of local legislative requirements.

  • Coordinating, coaching and guiding regional/sites RTW coordinators to ensure injury management, workcover and return to work programs are managed effectively

To be Successful

  • At least 8-10 years successful experience within a safety related role, within an industrial or manufacturing environment

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in OHS, Environment or related discipline

  • Demonstrated Project Management and investigation skills

  • Strong Interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships

  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication

  • Behavioural Safety Experience in the development and application of training plans
