This is a fantastic opportunity to work within our Cummins Generator Technologies business in Stamford and to become a leader for our newly developed Pilot Centre. Stamford is just one of 7 global manufacturing plants, trading under the universally recognized brand names of STAMFORD, AvK and MAKRON with unrivalled and expanding product portfolio – ranging from 0.5 kVA to 11,000 kVA. We use our experience and knowledge gathered from a large and diverse number of applications of synchronous generator installations worldwide to provide expertise in offering integrated design solutions that help our customers compete more successfully throughout the world.
One of your key tasks would be to manage single discipline staff engaged in various engineering projects and assignments. To achieve the aim, you would be expected to apply advanced knowledge of technical engineering principles and practices in the identification and understanding of client requirements.
You will be also tasked and challenged with managing the development of technical specifications, implementing designs, and delivering high performance, low-cost equipment and system solutions integrated with customers’ solutions.
Finally, you will cooperate with our fantastic sales and marketing teams to design and deliver client solutions.
Core duties and objectives:
Leads a medium sized technical group and manages team to implement leadership's vision.
Establishes employee performance standards; works collaboratively to set goals and to address areas of deficiency.
Influences business-area leadership decisions.
Manages financial controls and risk, ensuring operations are executed within established budget.
Identifies issues, problems, and opportunities to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Formulates employee and department development plans for transferring technical knowledge.
Coaches and motivates employees; provides guidance and direction on resolving problems and issues.
Delegates and assigns work, considering employee skills and development needs.
Advises leaders regarding the identification and resolution of complex problems.
Works with employees to establish their individual development and career plans.
Assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Preferably 5-10 years of relevant experience within power generation sector including leadership of
small technical groups
highly-developed communication skills
highly developed solving skills
adaptable to changing environment
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, University, or equivalent degree in Engineering required. Advanced degree or extended specific training are preferred.
