We have an exciting opportunity in Sumner, Washington for a parts professional counter person. Cummins Pacific is where you can work with our industry leading engine technology.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Knowledge of all products in the markets the branch supports, including competitor’s products

  • Minimum five years parts counter sales experience.

  • Determine replacement parts required, according to inspection of old parts, customer request or customer’s description of malfunctions.

  • Perform the duties of a Parts Professional with minimal supervision

  • Highly skilled in customer communications and sales techniques

  • Successfully completed certification and qualifications required for all company products

  • Possess a thorough understanding of parts warranty limits and claims procedures

  • Ability to file vendor parts warranty claims.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in researching of parts for customers using resources available.

  • Demonstrated ability how to look up and sell Recon exchange engines and parts

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate suggestive up-sell opportunities to aid customers in making repair decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to receive, inspect and credit cores.

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and knowledge of Cummins systems.

  • Ability to coach and mentor other parts professionals.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform all work in a safe manner.

  • Understands their ownership for starting and completing tasks in a timely manner.

  • Displays evidence of identifying and taking ownership of problems encountered and suggested solutions.

  • Provides accurate, consistent information on all documents.

  • Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all areas involved.

  • Achieves Understand and model Cummins values.

  • Ability to multitask and deliver on key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever changing environment.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Forklift certified preferred.
