Responsibility

Applies diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned areas and projects in one of the following areas: development and maintenance of subsystem or component level requirements; development of subsystem or component verification and validation plans; architecture and generation of concept designs and functional allocation of subsystem requirements to components; and/or development of subsystem interface agreements, installation / application guidelines and quality assurance procedures.

Has responsibility for several components of a project or a complex component of a project.

Skills

Product Integration, Verification & Validation - Understands the basics of integration, verification, and validation concepts including component testing, integration testing, system testing, performance testing, test planning and documentation, and test environment.

Product Risk Management - Understands the basics of risk management concepts including risk identification, risk management planning, and risk monitoring. Should be able to produce lists of the product-specific risk items likely to compromise a project's success, and develop strategies to mitigate or control the risks.

Requirements Engineering - Understands the basic terminology used in requirements engineering.

Systems Definition And Design - Understands the basics of the system design process including requirements allocation and architecture definition, capability determination through system modeling and testing.

Concept Design/Architecture - Uses concept design/architecture appropriately as part of work. Understands the underlying principles, techniques and procedures. Performs/could perform concept design/architecture effectively.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering required.

Experience

3 years relevant work experience required.

Lead system modeling for architecture and component size selection against the customer duty cycle.

Lead electric power systems engineering. This includes ownership of the system boundary diagram, system requirements, and gather industry code and standards for requirements.

Lead in the flowdown of requirements from systems to components. Lead in measuring and understanding energy and power flow in the system from system model to system hardware. Lead in model validation and managing any discrepancies in results.

Works closely with controls in the management of system requirements to controls requirements.
