We are looking for a talented Mechanic B to join our team specializing in manufacturing for our Cummins engine components in Bloomfield, CT.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Performs maintenance and machine support tasks to keep equipment available and capable. Selects and uses appropriate tools, machinery and specialty equipment completing work with limited guidance. Learns and understand the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment.

  • Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures.

  • Repairs and maintains manufacturing equipment.

  • Performs and documents preventive, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities.

  • Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks.

  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as required to meet production goals.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly pay range for this position will be around $29.80 w/ 7% shift differential. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.

Experience

Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

Good mechanical understanding of CNC equipment.

  • Machine leveling, replace/rebuild hydraulic pumps, replace/rebuild clamps and work supports

  • Replace and rebuild coolant pumps, repair leaks (all types)

  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude

  • Experience changing ball screws, bearings, and spindles

  • Proficiency with pneumatics and hydraulics

  • Must possess knowledge and have experience with lock-out tag-out

  • Proficiency with the practice of Facility and Equipment Maintenance Standards

  • Experience trouble-shooting to root cause

  • Welding experience preferred

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Must have a sense of urgency, technical expertise, with a focus on continuous improvement
