We are looking for a talented CEC VPI Integrator to join our team specializing in Purchasing for our Corporate Business Segment in Columbus, IN/ or you home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Obtains input and negotiates with project leadership, suppliers, product engineers, or technologyteams to ensure the delivery of robust prototype and production designs, technical risk mitigationplans, and coordinated deliverables of new or current product change activity.

  • Influences the design and project risk trade-offs that impact project cost or supplier earlyengagement without sacrifice of quality expectations.

  • Main focus will include working in businessprocesses of Product Preceding Technology (PPT) and other early product development activity.

  • Establish guidance to complex supplier relationships through supplier agreements required toprotect intellectual properties.

  • Supports all Supplier Early Engagement work and new technology development.

  • Engages with project teams and engineering to understand needs for new suppliers andtechnologies and connects engineering with the appropriate sourcing team.

  • For defined projects, serve as the purchasing team member and meet the required purchasingdeliverables. Where a project includes a deliverable of a demonstration product, support theprocurement cycle.

  • Prepare and deliver information for management and functional reviews.

  • Establishes preliminary new product program sourcing strategies for Product Preceding Technology(PPT) or other projects that are moving to VPI.

  • In conjunction with the Technical Cost Centre of Excellence, use Should Cost and/or other tools todevelop piece price targets for components and product material cost targets.

  • Purchasing Policies, Procedures, Tools - Understands all of the relevant purchasing policies andprocedures and complies with them in daily work; Masters all tools required to conductprocurement work. Knows how to access documents in the appropriate Document ManagementSystem (DMS) and/or who to ask if clarification or expansion of the information contained in eachdocument is needed.

  • Project Management - Establishes and maintains the balance of scope, schedule and resources for atemporary effort (a "project").

  • Responsible for Technical Sourcing and Cost Management for CEC VPI programs, could be Turbo and/or Fuel System programs.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technicaldisciplines is required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is preferredwith a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making

  • Must be familiar with VPI process

  • Familiar with Turbo and/or Fuel system technologies a plus

  • Familiar with sourcing a plus
