We are looking for a talented Enterprise Solution Architect to join our team specializing in Systems & Information Technology for our Corporate Organization in a hybrid role based in Columbus Indiana and your remote home office.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Architect IIoT solutions to meet desired business outcomes
Responsible for the research, evaluation, and selection of application, technology, and infrastructure standards.
Leads the analysis of the technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
Creates project and technology roadmaps and define migration plans to mitigate the gaps between the current and future state.
Develops standards for the specific function or technology domain and defines design patterns and configurations that can be reused as building blocks for other solutions.
Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to manage change and guide solution decisions for the enterprise.
Ensures coherence and completeness across all Cummins Technology Reference Model (CTRM) disciplines.
Maintains positive relationships with IT and business leaders to effectively promote and communicate IT architecture value proposition.
Collaborates with IT stakeholders to apply IT strategy to architecture future state architecture and develops roadmaps to realize future state.
Defines and ensures effective metrics to measure standards adoption, reuse, and demonstrate value.
Maintain knowledge of emerging technology and software trends focused on driving comparative advantage for CMI.
Cultivates strong relationships with industry experts; participates and may present at conferences and round tables.
Performs complex cost/benefit analysis when researching future state capabilities.
Coaches and mentors less senior Architects.
Help drive and manage other Architects on the team and work on Security, Domain and/or Solution Architecture activities.
Assist Cummins IT / Common Services / Architecture Leadership on Cummins IT strategic initiatives and Architecture initiatives as needed.
Collaborates with project teams to understand requested capabilities and recommends the right set of technologies to meet the needs.
Provides infrastructure capacity recommendations for new applications and systems.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
College, university, or equivalent bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business or a related subject required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Minimum 6 years’ significant relevant experience required
5 years with various manufacturing systems experience. (SCADA, MES, SAP, MOM, IIoT, PLM, Industry 4.0 etc.)
Familiar with manufacturing business designs, business models, functions, processes, and job roles in manufacturing environments, as well as how they are impacted by digitization and emerging technologies/techniques
Must have knowledge in Industry 4.0, digital transformation
Experience in manufacturing integration technologies and standards including OPC, MTConnect, MQTT
Hands on experience with OPC UA-DA, XML, HTML
Experience with Cloud technologies highly desired
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking capabilities
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
