We are looking for a talented FSC DMC Lab Manager to join our team specializing in Quality for our Components Business Segment in our Columbus IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Provides complex metrology and calibration engineering support to customers and laboratory staff. Develops processes and systems in the application of the science of measurement.

  • Designs and develops measurement processes, methods, and procedures for calibration of inspection measurement and test equipment and testing of products and components.

  • Performs complex Measurement Systems Analysis using the principles of traceability and analysis of accuracy and precision requirements.

  • Employs statistics to analyze calibration and testing processes, interprets results, and suggestions solutions to problems.

  • Provides consultation on complex metrology issues.

  • Designs and develops specialized measurement and test equipment.

  • Develops and leads the execution of measurement and test equipment capability studies.

  • Provides technical training on calibration processes and procedures to technicians and less experienced engineers. Monitors compliance with laboratory quality system requirements.

  • Selects and manages specialized software used in the laboratory for calibration and testing off-line measurement data analysis, and control of automated calibrations and testing.

  • May coach and mentor less experienced engineers.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Guide, coach, evaluate and mentor DWU & OCU workforce in the FSC DMC Lab

  • Prioritize WOs for the team so that there is increased efficiency and customer satisfaction in the DMC Lab

  • Engage with the OCU team to drive Engineering work at the highest priority and efficiency Ensure Quality Systems requirements are met in the DMC Lab area

  • Customer focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.

  • Problem Solving - Solves problems using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.

  • Chemical Metrology - Applies chemical measurement science in the development and application of measurement/ inspection processes that deliver capable measurement results, supporting design validation and conformity assessment meeting regulatory, customer, and product requirements.

  • Dimensional Metrology - Applies dimensional measurement science in the development and application of measurement/ inspection processes that deliver capable measurement results, supporting design validation and conformity assessment meeting regulatory, customer and product requirements.

  • Electrical Metrology - Applies electrical measurement science in the development and application of measurement/ inspection processes that deliver capable measurement results, supporting design validation and conformity assessment meeting regulatory, customer and product requirements.

  • Measurement Science - Analyzes measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science, “Metrology” e.g. Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical and Radiation and Physical.

  • Mechanical Metrology - Applies mechanical measurement science in the development and application of measurement/ inspection processes that deliver capable measurement results, supporting design validation and conformity assessment meeting regulatory, customer, and product requirements.

  • Systems Thinking - Defines the system of interest by drawing the boundaries, identifying its context within its environment, its interfaces, and that it has a lifecycle to aid in planning the problem statement, scope and deliverables ; analyzes linkages and interactions between elements that comprise the system of interest by using appropriate methods, models and integration of outcomes to understand the system, predict its behavior and devise modifications to it in order to produce the desired effects.

  • Product Function Test System Design - Interprets test equipment specifications from test standards or lab customer requirements; selects and integrates appropriate equipment, instrumentation and software to control boundary conditions and collect measurement data; assesses capability of the lab equipment against the requirements and support infrastructure.

  • Technical Function Processes and Tools - Executes, improves, trains, coaches and/or manages the Technical processes and tools including standards and best practices that enables knowledge to be re-used and functional deliverables to be met in a quality and productive manner.

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Physics or Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
