The Hospitality Support Specialist is responsible for tasks related to supporting the overall management of food service suppliers for cafeterias, vending and office coffee. This person must maintain a neat appearance, possess excellent interpersonal skills and easily build rapport with customers. Constantly upholding a high level of efficiency in the operations and ensuring that the requirements of guests and Hospitality Standards are met.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all food service operations and respective contracts.

  • Serves as a resource on hospitality projects and assignments; employs basic knowledge of effective project management and general business understanding.

  • Develop process and schedule for auditing cafeteria, vending and office coffee operations.

  • Document all audits and communicate non-compliant items with vendor.

  • Create and implement secret shopper program as a means of obtaining customer feedback.

  • Encourage suggestions to help improve overall customer experience by applying a lens of the customer audit process.

  • Conduct quarterly, bi-annual and annual customer satisfaction surveys utilizing a variety of surveying tools and approaches.

  • Coordinate and lead “Site Food Committee” meetings and functions, which help build a communication strategy that involves obtaining key stakeholder feedback.

  • Assist in developing customer engagement strategies to provide a personalized way of assisting customers with their food and beverage needs.

  • Manage documents and prepare analyses related to assigned administrative duties and support for the department.

  • Prepare documentation for payment of vendors and suppliers. Submits documentation and enters requests for payments into accounting system.

  • Works with customers, facilities, suppliers to provide project coordination for hospitality related projects.

  • Conducts improvements and needs analyses; assists with planning for changes and improvements; schedules and implements plan; reviews results upon completion.

  • Communicates changes and improvements to affected facility occupants.

  • Hold food and beverage supplier staff accountable to continuously updated requirements standards, policies and procedures

  • Demonstrate and instill GIS-Hospitality standards, 6 Sigma, Corporate Food Philosophy and “brand identity” in all food and beverage operation implementations.

  • Foster quality and professional relationships with approved vendors, while implanting Cummins values with each vendor

  • Leads by example with maintaining all department standards, policies and procedures.

  • Keep current on industry trends in food service, cafeteria, vending and coffee.

  • Demonstrates confidentiality in execution of all responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

High school diploma, GED or equivalent required. Must pass typing and all related testing.

The Hospitality Support Specialist is required to have three years of experience in Hospitality or Food Service with the following skills:

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
