Test and analyze engines and components for stress, strain, fatigue, noise and vibration.
Uses existing technical engineering methods, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer in the area of testing and analysis of engine and engine related components for stress, strain, fatigue, noise and vibration. Applies (as acquired via formal education or technical experience) standard practices and techniques in specific situations, analyzes and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows established procedures and operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes to derive a solution or conclusion.
Thermal and Fluid Sciences
Analyze our products in test cells or test rigs in the field, as well as model performance aspects of the engine, fuel system, filtration, or aftertreatment systems.
Applies basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks in one of the following areas: combustion/performance/emissions, cool/lube/fuel systems, air handling, system integration, after treatment integration, cycle simulation, vehicle system simulation, combustion system simulation, flow simulation, filtration, or after treatment simulation.
Degree Programs Considered: PhD
Major Programs Typically Considered: Engineering Majors - Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering preferred.
Cummins Full Time Requirements:
College, university or equivalent technical experience required
Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
Must be able to complete 40 hours per week
0-2 years in a position/internship relating to your field of study preferred

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
