This is an exciting opportunity inColumbus Indiana for an Product Cybersecurity Engineer.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

Responsible for ensuring information and data on computer systems is protected and all networks and computer systems are adequately secure to prevent unauthorized access; investigates potential security breaches and recommends corrective actions to resolve and/or prevent re-occurrences; responsible for promoting IT security awareness

Leads execution of complex response to computer security incidents according to the Information Security Policies and Industry Best Practices

Lead efforts of and provide timely updates to multiple business units during response. Additionally, the candidate will provide recommendations to the business units

Contributes to a team of cyber security professionals in a leadership/coach/mentor capacity while working with threat data, writing reports, briefing event details to leadership, and coordinating remediation with personnel

Leads analysis of potential impact of new threats and exploits and communicate risks to Cyber Security Engineering

Monitor information security related web sites (SANS Internet Storm Center, etc.) and mailing lists (BugTraq, etc.) to stay up to date on current attacks and trends

Ensures technology employed by the Incident Response team compliments operational processes

Perform in-depth analysis in support of complex Incident Response operations and provide enhancement / recommendations

Understands and applies concepts of computer forensics

Provide guidance to tier one and other first response for proper handling of Information Security incidents

Participate in industry task forces and working groups where appropriate to understand current and future threats

Develops requirements for technical capabilities for cyber incident management. Recommends configuration changes to improve the performance, usability, and value of cyber analysis tools

Manages the information security data sources to maintain organizational situational awareness

Trouble-shoots very complex, cross-business issues within existing security and privacy protections. Performs root cause analysis and makes recommendations on changes

Manages, Coaches and Mentors less senior Cyber Security employees

Recommends improvements Incidents Response Process and Procedures



Cyber Security Threat Analysis - Assesses internal and external Cyber Security attacks using Cyber Security standards and tools to identify specific vulnerabilities.

Cyber Security Defense Operations - Performs operations according to the Cyber Security Operations Plan to detect and mitigate potential or real-time internal and external threats.

Cyber Security Incident Response - Investigates and analyzes relevant response activities using incident response plans to end malicious activity and restore Cummins business operations.

Cyber Security Investigation - Captures and analyzes digital forensic evidence using forensic tools to identify the severity, exposure and threat of exploitation.

Balances stakeholders - Anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology or a related subject or equivalent industry experience required.


Significant level of relevant work experience required

Experience in Controls or Embedded Systems development or current product support to the embedded systems environment

Understands vehicle networking

Experience with CAN

Product Development and Electronic security

Cybersecurity experience

Familiar with Industry standards such as SEA etc.

Familiar with assessment tools such as TARA and EVITA

Electronic systems engineering is a plus

Preferably with vehicle systems embedded controls

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
