This is an exciting opportunity for Purchasing and Supply Continuity Analysts #IN992 in Columbus, Indiana & various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Utilize logistics and Supply Chain Management principles and practices to execute buying strategies in accordance with agreed upon materials buying plans, specifically focused on improving supplier overall performance and capacity ahead of demand.

  • Collaborate with the sourcing team for supplier process improvement while maintaining high quality product and service delivery using Six Sigma tools and processes.

  • Analyze purchasing initiatives and processes in support of the delivery of cost effective and high quality goods and services.

  • Prepare and present recommendations of continuous improvement projects and alternative courses of action related to acquisition, distribution, delivery, and resources to senior purchasing leaders.

  • Apply sourcing policies, supply chain processes and procedures to serve as communication conduit between logistics, manufacturing, and suppliers.

  • Interact with suppliers with regard to payment issues and order fulfillment. Provide delivery/expediting support to the plant/site during supplier issues, analyzing root causes and provide logistical backing of engineering releases.

  • Avoid supplier engagement that may compromise supplier sourcing, selection, and management processes, and leverage tools to conduct procurement initiatives.

  • Proactively mitigate risks using knowledge of Supply Base Risk Management to manage continuity of supply, reputational risk, and risk to margins of parts by minimizing disruption and services throughout supply chain.

  • Leverage supplier selection and dual sourcing opportunities as a first line of defense against supplier risk.

  • Assess and enforce contractual terms and conditions, monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) throughout the term of the contract to ensure intended value of the contract is reached, and manage supplier delivery of product to company requirements.

  • Work with supplier to advise them of any governmental regulations at a regional, national and global level and company policies and procedures pertaining to regulatory compliance for the materials and services they provide, and obtain documentation from the supplier in order to document evidence of compliance.

  • Prepare and manage an annual operating plan including expense resources, and capital. Compile and analyze technical source data necessary for product development, and review logistics performance with suppliers against targets, benchmarks, and service agreements.

  • Develop and implement Cross Functional Project Management tools such as plans, schedules, and responsibility and compliance matrices.

  • Analyze operational trends and develop corrective action plans using Data Management tools including Minitab and SQL.

  • Support cross functional key business initiatives utilizing knowledge of SAP data analysis and SAP ERP Systems to leverage and automate critical sourcing data, and product lifecycle information.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications:

  • Positions require a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Sourcing or related field and 2 years of experience as an Industrial or Manufacturing Engineer, Supply Chain or Sourcing Analyst or Planner, or related position.

  • Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Sourcing or related field and 5 years of experience as an Industrial or Manufacturing Engineer, Supply Chain or Sourcing Analyst or Planner, or related position.

JOB SITE: Columbus, Indiana & various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S.

WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience plus bonus.
