We are looking for a talented Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Engine Business in Columbus, Indiana, US.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Leads the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.

  • Leads by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.

  • Impacts the work by utilizing continuous improvement tools, following the Cummins standards, and leading the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.

  • Leads the communications with and influences key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.

  • Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.

  • Leads the advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Problem Solving - Solves problems using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.

Compensation and Benefits

College, university, or equivalent degree required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

This engineer will develop tooling, procure capital equipment, and support day to day responsibilities here at CMEP. This position will help support the implementation of tooling/process/equipment as we bring in a new product to the plant and support VPI projects including the MY25 launch.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
