This is an exciting opportunity in Columbus, Indiana for a Sr. Technical Training Instructor. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Provides high-quality technical training delivery on Cummins products and systems.

  • Delivers technical training to distributor, dealer, and customer service personnel to enable technician efficiency, repair quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Provides technical support as required.

  • Forecast training demand and develop plan to address business needs.

  • Trains and provides technical support to technicians and service personnel on products, policies, systems and tools.

  • Develop expertise through train the trainer sessions and maintain up-to-date training materials.

  • Evaluates training with participant feedback and field performance.

  • Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintains technical training records and report service capability.

  • Customize and modify technical training programs and presentations as required.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience Required:

Training Delivery - Proven capability in demonstrating effective presentation and facilitation skills by adapting content to learner needs.

Communication - Written & Verbal - Significant experience in written and verbal communication and should be capable of communicating effectively to all levels within and outside the company.

Time Management - Consistently demonstrates effective and efficient use of individual and organizational time to achieve key business objects. Models behaviors to others.

Attention to Details - Consistently demonstrates ability to work in a thorough and detailed manner. Provides accurate, consistent information on all documents. Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved. Can model/coach this skill to others.

Service Product Knowledge - General knowledge of all products in all regions. Deep knowledge of one product line, some knowledge of multiple product lines. Able to apply product knowledge effectively to a wide variety of situations. Deep knowledge of all owned sub-systems, some knowledge of other sub-systems.

Decision Making - Demonstrates process of selecting a logical choice from the available options. Ability to used decision making tools.

Initiative - Demonstrates ownership for starting and completing tasks in a timely manner. Identifies and takes ownership of problems encountered and suggests solutions. Pursues work with energy, drive, and effort to accomplish tasks.

Adaptability - Can alter approach as the situation demands. Works effectively within a variety of situations and with various individuals and groups. Accepts and is supportive of change, and adjusts plans in response.

Experience

Intermediate level of relevant work experience required, including experience in service.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

College, university preferred or equivalent technical experience required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
