Job Summary

The Transportation Team Leader serves as a critical link between senior management and various internal and external stakeholders. This role is pivotal in managing export and inbound shipping processes, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and ensuring a seamless flow of communication and administrative support. Responsible for coordinating logistics, driving efficiency improvements, and providing high-level administrative support to senior management. The role demands a blend of operational oversight, meticulous attention to detail, and proactive stakeholder engagement.

This role is working rotational shifts in line with operations:

Monday – Friday 07:00am – 15:00pm or 14:00pm – 22:00pm rotating weekly.

This is an initial Temporary 12-month contract.

Salary: up to £37,530 depending on experience

Location: Daventry, Northamptonshire, UK

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensure compliance with SOX and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee export and inbound shipping, including booking, documentation, and customs.

  • Address transportation issues promptly.

  • Share and communicate information between senior management and stakeholders.

  • Track and report on transportation metrics (KPIs).

  • Ensure expenditures meet budget guidelines.

  • Implement efficiency and improvement projects.

  • Prepare documents, respond to inquiries, and arrange meetings.

To be successful in this role you will need experience with the following:

  • Significant work experience in transportation or logistics, with in-depth knowledge obtained through specialised training and relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of transportation management systems and best practices.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and adopt a collaborative approach in a team environment.

  • Thorough attention to detail for ensuring accuracy and diligence in all tasks.

  • Strong focus on quality control, crucial for maintaining high standards and reliability.

  • Proficient computer skills, with a solid command of Microsoft Word and Excel.
