Power Generation Field Service Technician
Cummins Sales and Service is currently seeking a Power Generation Field Service Technician to become part of the dynamic team at our Edmonton, AB branch. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will troubleshoot / repair Cummins Power Generation equipment at the customer’s location.
* Responsibilities: *
Diagnose and complete repairs to generators and components in the field using specialized tools and documented procedures / policies, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.
Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
The primary focus in this role is power generation, but we are looking for someone who is also willing to be cross trained on the engine side to better serve our customers.
This position will work Monday to Friday from 0730 - 1600 hrs. Please note that any future shift changes that may occur are made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the standing Collective Agreement. This position must also be able to work OT when required and approved by the supervisor and may be required to carry an after-hour’s phone as part of a rotation.
Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada without sponsorship.
Valid Journeyman Certification in one (or more) of the following fields: Electrician, Diesel Engine (i.e. Heavy Duty, Commercial Transport) or Electric Motor Systems.
Prior field service experience on Power Generation systems, including generator controls, service and maintenance, automatic transfer switches and other electrical related systems.
Ability to work unsupervised on all makes and models of generators including, but not limited to, Cummins Power Generation products.
Must have good computer skills. Familiarization with Inpower and Insite software preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to provide a clean driver abstract.
Track record of excelling in customer satisfaction and communication.
Strong Safety Practices and Awareness.
