Assembly Technician – 3rd Shift ( 8:30pm – 6:00am)

We are looking for a talented Assembly Technician – 3rd Shift to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Components Business Segment team in Forest City, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Operates manual and automated equipment to manufacture and assemble product in order to create the proper characteristics and dimensions necessary to meet customer expectations.

  • Use precision measuring instruments such as torque wrenches, calipers, dial indicators, and micrometers to determine adherence of product characteristics to prescribed specifications.

  • Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks and performs planned operator care and maintenance tasks.

  • Reads, comprehend, and execute written instructions in order to position, pre-assemble and stage components as required for assembly; to determine the dimensional characteristics of the product being produced and control the process as prescribed by the control plan

  • Controls further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected as defined by applicable procedures and/or delegation of the area manufacturing manager.

  • Complies with HSE standards, policies, procedures & regulations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

  • Performs the necessary tasks involved in the process of assembling components required to manufacture single and tandem front/rear heavy duty drive axles.

  • Strong knowledge of the automotive manufacturing sector and readiness to adhere to safety measures.

  • Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, and apply Manufacturing Instruction Guides.

  • Must be flexible and be able to work in a team environment.

  • Must comply will all Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Policies and Procedures

  • Must be a quick learner and able to collaborate with others.

  • Candidates are expected to perform rework or repair operations on nonconforming material.

  • Safe forklift operation experience.

  • Familiarity with Quality and time.

  • Readiness to adhere to safety requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range of $19 - $22 commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
