DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Operator to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for Cummins in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

  • This is a permanent role fully onsite working a mid shift pattern: Monday to Friday 3.00pm to 10.15pm - will include a shift allowance

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Operate manual and automated production equipment in accordance with safety, quality, and productivity standards to support HHP and VG mid-shift operations.

  • Follow all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards, using proper personal protective equipment and reporting hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.

  • Perform quality checks, inspections, and documentation to ensure compliance with SPC, poka-yoke, visual standards, and other quality procedures.

  • Identify, control, and escalate non-conforming materials or quality issues to minimize production risks and cost exposure.

  • Achieve production goals by working to defined cycle times, maintaining clean and orderly work areas, and performing routine housekeeping and machine maintenance tasks.

  • Collaborate with peers, skilled trades, and support staff to maintain equipment, identify repair needs, and continuously improve processes and material flow.

  • Engage in training and development activities, contributing ideas for improving safety, quality, productivity, and team performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Previous packing or manufacturing experience is an advantage, though not required.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt messages effectively for different audiences.

  • Demonstrated courage in addressing challenges and raising issues constructively.

  • Proven ability to deliver results, maintain accountability, and meet commitments under varying conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience:

  • Full training will be provided.

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

The compensation for this role is aligned with a local bargained or unionized agreement.
