This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, Indiana for a Manager - eDiscovery and Information Management Specialist. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.
This role is responsible for strategizing best practices and managing e-discovery in a variety of complex litigation and risk mitigation matters and projects across a wide range of businesses, geographic regions and corporate functions while working with a global team. Includes technical and business guidance in Information Management.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Recognized as a developing expert in the area of e-discovery including process, technology direction and roadmaps
Manages, supervises and performs large and/or complex e-discovery projects worldwide
Develops legal strategies for e-discovery, including preservation, collection and legal hold process development
Responsible for project and matter management with limited supervision; exercises independent judgment
Acts as trusted advisor to management; has strong grasp of business environment; effectively partners with stakeholders to identify and design needed improvements; provides practical advice within the appropriate business context; understands and manages stakeholder expectations
Provides technology consulting services to internal stakeholders
Provides technical assistance with support applications
Develops policies on global information retention practices and rules.
Provides timely, proactive consultation, support and leadership in data management practices and improvement projects.
Works effectively with outside counsel and consultants as needed
Works on behalf of legal function with internal stakeholders including compliance and investigations
Effectively influences and maintains open, collaborative relationships with stakeholders, other business partners and outside stakeholders.
May direct work of and/or mentor one or more IT and forensic specialists.
Provides technical input and guidance to information technology on software implementation projects.
Process development and continuous improvement methodology
Understanding of e-Discovery process and methodology
Broad understanding of Information Technology required.
Understands business objectives and bigger picture
Demonstrates excellent communication skills including ability to liaise between Legal and IT functions
Minimum3-5 years of experience of substantive e-discovery practice either consulting or in-house with a corporation.
Experience managing multiple, concurrent projects involving cross-functional teams globally.
Prior work experience in a global matrix organization preferred.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree required.
CEDS – Certified e-Discovery Specialist (ACEDS) Preferred.
IGP – Information Governance Professional (ARMA) - optional
CIPP - Certified Information Privacy Professional - optional
Juris Doctor degree optional
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
