We are looking for a talented Assistant Team Member - 1st Shift to join our team specializing in Manufacturing , Engine Bussiness Segment in James Town, NY

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Description

  • Performs highly skilled non production activities independently supporting manufacturing processes in accordance with quality and productivity requirements safely in a manufacturing environment.

  • Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures & regulations.

  • Acts as a formal resource leading and coordinating others.

  • Quickly and effectively adapts to change in the manufacturing environment.

  • Raises quality concerns and supports problem solving to minimize cost and exposures.

  • Facilitates and applies Cummins Operating System (COS) practices and Operations Excellence (OE) methodology throughout the plant.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Lead daily production activities including management of team members, real-time management of line flow, parts shortages, quality, and safety issues.

  • Ensure that all team members are properly trained to increase safety, quality, efficiency, and communication of the production environment.

  • Oversee and adjust time and attendance via eTime.

  • Regularly assess team performance, create, and execute action plans to improve team members performance regarding safety, quality, productivity.

  • Monitor and document all instances that could result in formal discipline, execute initial disciplinary conversations and paperwork when needed.

  • Proactively stays informed with all project work within the department, takes lead on projects when necessary.

  • Looks to initiate communication across the whole team to ensure all parties are informed in a timely manner.

  • Embody team first mentality, lead by example, and actively fill in other roles within the team when needed

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
