We are looking for a talented Industrial Machine Repair to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Engine Business Segment in Jamestown, NY.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Troubleshoots, assembles, installs, tests and maintains mechanical systems using all necessary tools to keep equipment available and capable. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. May work independently and instruct or coach others.

  • Fully proficient performing troubleshooting, mechanical repairs and maintenance of equipment.

  • Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

  • Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet production goals.

  • Works with peers, skilled trades and support staff to maintain and identify equipment needing repair.

  • Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams.

  • Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements.

  • Participates actively with local Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

  • Services support and maintain all Industrial Machine equipment for the assigned area. This includes both PM and repair tasks, troubleshooting, installations, reading, and interpretation of blueprint and tool drawings is required.

  • Works on various equipment, including, but not limited to, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, spindle, gear head, hydrostatic systems, CNCs, ball screws, ways, dynamometers, fluid systems transmissions, conveyors, gantry’s, etc.

  • Responds quickly to down issues to troubleshoot and repair as needed. Responsible for smoothly operating the machinery used in both production and non-production areas.

  • Utilizes the Maximo system for all PM and WO tasks while adding failure remarks for completed work. Uses time wisely to complete tasks to minimize equipment downtime.

  • Basic electrical knowledge is a must. Regularly communicates any equipment issues with management.

  • Must be flexible to support the plant in any matter that is needed.

  • Provide active training and act as a mentor for the skilled Trades Apprenticeship Program.

Meets one of the following minimum requirements:

  • Must possess 7 years’ experience working in the relevant Trade field.

  • Successful completion of an approved 4-year, 8000 hours on-the-job training apprenticeship program with the related course of study, plus 1 year working in the pertinent Trade Field.

  • 2-year Technical Degree in the related field (Machine Repair, Electrical or Tool Design), plus 3 years’ experience working in the field of this particular Skilled Trade.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
