Marketing Communications & Sales Operations Director

Description

Directs the design, development and implementation of sales systems and processes to facilitate the achievement of sales goals. Provides leadership to improve the overall effectiveness of Sales. Partners with peers and leadership to ensure alignment and drive business results.

Develops and delivers global / regional Sales Operations strategies and roadmaps for execution.

Helps build, maintain and motivate a world class sales force. Supports regional and global sales talent management and retention initiatives.

Focuses on long term sustainable sales growth in addition to quarterly and day-to-day results.

Uses data and analytics to drive organizational sales behavior and growth.

Directs the development of new methods, processes, and procedures; resolves complex issues.

Participates in the Global Sales Operations Council to contribute to global sales initiatives (best practice identification, process implementation, communication initiatives, and culture change initiatives).

Develops and executes Sales transformation strategy.

Acts as a champion and liaison for global sales initiative priorities.

Directs regional implementation and execution of global sales initiatives.

Delivers, trains and drives utilization of tools and processes to enable the sales force including Cummins CRM Tools.

Leads / supports change management efforts for all regional and global sales transformation initiatives.

Delivers sales analysis, performance reports and insights to the sales force, sales management, and general management.

Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders and leadership.

Leads, motivates, mentors, and develops staff. Develops high-functioning teams.

Develops and manages spending AOP budgets, financial controls, and risk ensuring operations are executed efficiently and within established budgets.

Anticipates and adopts innovations in business – sales force automation via digital and technological applications / advancements.

Champions the adoption and ongoing usage of a single CRM system by the sales force and sales leadership to deliver comprehensive sales pipeline analysis including data, reporting and customer insights. Ensures ongoing alignment between business needs and CRM system.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

University or college degree in the field of Sales or Marketing with an MBA preferred, or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate a plus.

Experience

Significant level of relevant work experience required for this position. Experience as a sales representative and other sales support function desirable. Experience in sales management desirable. Experience in strategy, analytics, large organization management/budget holding, product, technical roles beneficial.

Directs the development and execution of internal and external marketing communications

Works across business units in cross-selling and marketing initiatives.

Represents Cummins externally tocustomersand the media.

Develops and executes short- and long-term communication strategies

Develops and directs the implementation of the brand strategy and guidelines.

Consults with business leadership to establish brand communication strategies and ensurecommunication, planning, and monitoring is effectively meeting the needs of customers.
