DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented In-shop diesel technician to join our team at the Kamloops Cummins location.

Cummins offers a 5000$ sign-on bonus for this position

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Apply documented procedures and policies to perform diagnostics and complex repairs.

  • Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engine.

  • Complete required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten or business system input screens.

  • Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.

  • Maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.

  • Adhere to and ensures adherence of more junior technicians to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Red seal Commercial Transport technician or equivalent is mandatory for this position.

  • Locally valid driving permit is mandatory for the role.

  • CVI license is an asset for this role.

  • Class 3 license is an asset for this role.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.

  • Experience in bumper to bumper repairs.

  • Experience in trailer repair.

  • Cummins engine troubleshooting and repairs is considered an asset

  • OEM Dealer experience is considered an asset.

About the role :

  • This is a safety-oriented position.

  • On a 4x10 working schedule (Weds - Sat) 7am to 530pm

  • Cummins factory training provided

  • Pay is 51.13$ hourly plus a 1.50$ hourly premium.

  • On highway vehicles

  • Firetrucks

  • Construction equipment

  • Trailers

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our Company Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
