We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Workshop Manager to join our team specialising in repairs and maintenance for our Mackay branch. This is a relationship focused leadership role, managing employees, internal stakeholders, and external customers. The Mackay branch services multi-market product applications - automotive, on/off Highway, mining, power generation, agricultural and marine.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

-Lead and manage a team of dedicated supervisors, technicians, and apprentices

-Manage repair strategy and the coordination of service events

-Operationally monitoring goals and targets for the Workshop, whilst maintaining customer satisfaction levels

-Monitors the status of open repairs with technicians; addresses issues that impact completion of the repair plan in the time quoted to customer

-Upkeep of the workshop, equipment and fixed plant assets while adhering to all HSE policies and procedures

-Create growth, provide opportunities and performance feedback for employees, in line with the Talent Management System guidelines

-Promote a positive, behavioural based safety culture and lead your team in shifting HSE to a value

-Management and day to day mentoring of apprentices, organisation of apprentice out placement, liaising with Northern region apprentice manager and liaising with NQ Tafe regarding training programs

-Management of apprentice competencies (logbooks) to ensure maintenance as per AUR requirements

-Management of LOTO (Lock out, tag out) and contractor management within the workshop

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

-Trade background in Heavy Diesel Technology

-Experience in performance management and appraisals of employees

-Experience in a workshop environment with strong leadership and people management skills

-Enthusiastic and motivated to ensure employees perform to their potential through mentoring and training

-Experience in apprentice management and outplacement is desirable

-Knowledge of contactor management and contractual requirements and Lock Out Tag Out processes and requirements

-Effective communication skills to all levels

-Strong commitment to HSE (Health Safety Environment) culture
