This is an exciting opportunity in Marktheidenfeld for a Quality Engineer

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • Applies the principles of product quality planning, assessment, and control to support the manufacturing and installation operations of the company.

  • Responsible for the application of appropriate methods in case of customer problems, requests for corrective actions, requests for corrective measures at suppliers, reports of faulty materials, etc.

  • Manages containment activities.

  • Organizes activities for continuous quality improvement to minimize error potential and to ensure continuous improvement in process and product design.

  • Ensures that products and process development comply with quality standards.

  • Identifies issues, prioritizes actions, conducts Six Sigma projects, or participates in them.

  • Participates in change management activities by verifying products and processes, developing key actions, and conducting data analysis to support decisions.

  • Performs audits of processes and Quality systems.

  • Works together with purchasing to improve the quality of purchased parts.

  • Serves other areas as a technical consultant on quality issues.


Skills and Experience Required:

  • Communication – Written and verbal – communicates ideas and thoughts to different audiences in a clear, structured and relevant way.

  • Develops an orderly, complete and convincing communication. Summarizes thoughts and ideas on a particular topic in a meaningful and concise manner.

  • Ability to communicate without increasing the liability of employees or employers. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the company.

  • Transmits information appropriate to the target group. Can communicate effectively to individuals and/or small and large group messages.

  • Applies appropriate communication for different time zones, culture groups, and languages. Applies the right language conventions (style, grammar, sound) in formal/informal business communications.

  • Reviewed and revised written work in a constructive way. Uses visual aids that are effective and appropriate

  • Problem solving and quality improvement – approaches to solving problems and improving quality including understanding/selection of tools/process types as well as knowledge of correction/Vorbeugeprozessen.

  • Knowledge of products and services – knows the product lines and the service offering of the business unit in which it operates (e.g. plant, plant (production line), etc.).

  • Development, implementation and review of quality systems, identification and integration of general elements such as design and process control, management responsibility, document control, etc. planning, preparation and implementation of Quality audits.

  • CPI (Value package Introduction) – Understanding the CPI process of Cummins, its phases, cross-functional measures, and areas of responsibility.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • University degree or equivalent degree desirable

  • Qualified on experience
