Project Manager – Power Gen projects

In this new role you will have the opportunity to lead multiple cross-functional projects from “inception to completion” partnering with key business stakeholders, customers, and external partners to ensure a successful project completion.

About the role:

This position manages, develops, and implements programs composed of multiple cross-functional projects in the region (Nordics) and ensures that the project delivery goes in accordance with the plan, budget, targets, and objectives. You will also be :

  • Facilitates project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project;

  • Works with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals;

  • Designs project plan, develops timeline, identifies project milestones, and tracks performance against performance goals and timeline;

  • Plans and monitors project budget, conducts research and analysis; provides input into the design and development of project plans and timelines;

  • Identifies and assigns appropriate resources to accomplish various project tasks: guides and coaches team members through various stages of the project, provides developmental feedback to team members, coaches other Project Managers in managing teams;

  • Manages project risk: uses quality tools to identify areas of risk, identifies alternatives or solutions, applies motivational techniques to broad-based organization change issues;

  • Ensures that project documentation is complete; monitors measures and communicates with Project Sponsor and other stakeholders on status of specific projects and assignments.

  • Identifies, tracks, and works with others to resolve project issues;

  • Monitors and communicates project status to project team;

  • Leverages experience of cross-functional resources and resources external to the project team; documents and shares team learnings with other teams; draws on other project team experiences to enhance the success of the project;

  • In very large programs this role could include the responsibility to work with business and functional leaders to define tangible and measurable business outcomes and to lead the program achieving those business outcomes.

Qualifications

About you:

You will ideally have Project Management background and significant technical experience within Genset / power systems environment, however if you enjoy and can evidence a high level of attention to detail, resiliency, and strong communication skills along with an interest in power solutions, we’d love to hear from you. Here are some of the other skills and competencies we’d like you to have:

  • BA degree in Electrical and / or Electronics engineering;

  • MA and (or) MBA degree in the technical discipline or social discipline is a plus;

  • Solid work experience within Genset / Power Systems environment with several years in Project Management;

  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional projects: schedule and scope management skills, project resource management experience, project risk management experience etc.;

  • Proven experience on Genset controls (including paralleling applications) and concepts;

  • Technical experience in commissioning gensets / power systems (the position may require to independently do the commissioning in case of need and / or manage and define scripts/commissioning activities when subcontracted resources are used);

  • A deep knowledge of SharePoint and Office 365 (Excel) environment;

  • Hands-on experience in working with MS Project (or relevant project tracking systems);

  • Fluency in English, as this is our main business language, along with the Swedish language;

  • Strong interest and no limitation in regular business trips across Norway, Denmark and Sweden (as the position requires too regularly be on-site)
