Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join Accelera by Cummins. We are a vastly resourced, zero-emissions industrial giant and you could be part of our success as we are looking for a talented HSE Lead - UK, eMobility to join our team in Milton Keynes.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Implementing and sustaining a positive health, safety and environmental culture through the application of the management systems framework in site(s) with low complexity. This includes establishing the short term and long-term strategic plan for the site to foster continual health, safety and environmental Improvement, leading programs, policies and assessments and monitoring performance to ensure compliance with Cummins internal requirements, applicable health, safety and environmental regulations and industry standards.
Ensuring employees are consulted and given the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures.
Leading hazard identification, environmental aspect identification and risk assessment programs to identify strategic risk improvement opportunities and gaps in health, safety and environmental compliance obligations. Manages planning actions to set targets and objectives for the site and supervises actions through completion.
Leading an effective support model throughout the site through training, skills development and internal communications. Develops and maintains support content ensuring it is up to date, controlled and available while adhering to data privacy regulations. Interfaces with external regulatory bodies as required with the support of the legal department.
Leading daily health, safety and environmental operations within the site(s) providing support to solve issues, including but not limited to health, safety and environmental compliance, capital and resource management, risk reduction, incident investigation, management of change, contractor safety, emergency preparedness and response, pollution prevention and environmental sustainability.
Driving improvements to health, safety and environmental performance metrics using a risk-based and data-driven approach. Adheres to Cummins internal reporting requirements through approved systems. Evaluates site health, safety and environmental data, legal compliance findings, and internal and external audit results to develop an improvement plan. Leads site(s) Health, Safety, Environmental Management Systems review annually in conformance with Cummins internal requirements.
Leading work cross-functionally as required to resolve work-related incidents, non-compliances, non-conformities, corrective and preventive actions driving continual improvement within the site(s).
Coaching and developing direct reports and/or cross-functional teams based on stakeholder feedback, observations and succession plan needs. Actively seeks opportunities for self-development through professional health, safety and environmental organizations, as a champion of emerging trends.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Intermediate level of experience required, including experience in management of health, safety and environmental ISO Standards required.
Minimal management experience preferred.
Ability to develop and oversee the implementation of a health, safety, and environmental management system which incorporates standards and policies specific to the eMobility business.
Experience with ensuring specific health, safety, and environmental regulatory requirements and standard requirements have been identified and met which are particular to eMobility products or activities.
Participates in projects relevant to the site or eMobility business, and takes ownership of health, safety, and environmental related tasks.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or equivalent degree required. Health, Safety and/or Environmental degree preferred.
Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred (NEBOSH).
