Manufacturing Project Management Specialist


* Job Summary: *

Cummins Emissions Solutions is seeking a strong candidate to fill the role of Manufacturing Project Management Specialist. This person will be accountable for the handoff of new products to the current product manufacturing team by executing all transition activities from prototype to production. This includes extensive interactions with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Safety, Materials, and Operations teams. This position serves as a critical link between our global program teams, in-house prototype shop, and full production processes at Mineral Point.

* Key Responsibilities: *

  • Manages new product launches to ensure all objectives are met for safety, quality, and delivery.

  • Typically manages 5 projects at a time. These projects impact the success of the manufacturing plant.

  • Serves as a resource on projects and work assignments; employs knowledge of effective project management and general business understanding.

  • Identifies, tracks, and works with others to resolve project issues.

  • Monitors and communicates project status to project team.

  • Assists with budget planning and tracking, research, and analytical support; provides input into the design and development of project plans and timelines.

  • Assists with managing project risk; uses quality tools to identify areas of risk.

  • Documents and shares team learnings with other teams; draws on other experiences to enhance the success of the project.

  • Maintains project notes, checklists, databases, and other records; monitors, measures, and communicates with VPI Leader on status of specific projects and assignments.

  • Other projects as assigned.

  • Needs to be a very strong communicator with the ability to manage up and across. Identifies, engages and manages stakeholders on a project or groups of projects. Identifies and communicates obstacles and resistance among stakeholders.

  • Cross-Functional Knowledge - Understands the basic high-level tasks for each functional area on a project.

  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university, certification or equivalent experience required.

* Experience: *

Relevant work experience preferred, will train the right candidate.
