If you are driven and motivated to become part of a dynamic team, we have an opening for a Software and Controls Lead Engineer (Mobility) in Mississauga, ON .

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Develop and maintain HMI’s based in LabVIEW for user interaction and data logging.

  • Develop and implement telemetry solutions for remote monitoring of systems deployed into the field across the world.

  • Investigate highly difficult or specialized embedded software problems, understands causal mechanisms, recommends appropriate action, owns problem resolution and documents results.

  • Create, manage, improve and apply embedded software development processes and tools.

  • Processes include model-based development, coding, compiling and test.

  • Tools include Simulink, code editors, integration tools, static analysis tools, compilers and hardware in the loop test tools.

  • Obtain input and negotiate with product and software development teams and deliver verified software features, components, builds to product teams.

  • Use systems knowledge and expertise to make decisions in the areas of software requirements, architecture, design, and test that impact the quality and performance of software builds, product lines (platforms) and management of cross-BU integration and coordination.

  • Responsible for review of less-experienced developers/testers’ work to ensure robust, reusable, and efficient design

  • Responsible for coaching and developing the next generation of technical experts.

  • Provide problem resolution leadership for complex systems with a high degree of ambiguity and often global business impact.

  • Lead the development and improvement of work processes and systems across function(s) within a global business unit or managing improvement across business units.

  • Coordinate and direct work of technical project teams, up to and including direct management of small to mid-sized teams.

  • Operate as the recognized multi-competency specialist or expert in a discipline or product area across a site or global business unit with responsibility for developing local talent (direct or indirect).

  • Coach and mentor other engineers, project managers and cross-functional team members.


Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Systems Design or Engineering Science).

  • Master’s in Engineering is considered an asset.

Experience :

  • Minimum 10 years of hands on experience developing HMI’s with LabVIEW and/ or working with microprocessors (TI, Microchip) and ruggedized controllers (STW, IFM).

  • Minimum five years of experience as a Technical Lead of projects in electrical design, electrical engineering.

  • Automotive manufacturing industry experience.

  • Prior experience in a leadership role an asset.
