This is an exciting opportunity in Nashville, TN for an AP Analyst. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Partner with entities to research and resolve processing issues from BMS

  • Identify root cause analysis of payables processing errors and suggests process improvements

  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced team members and others within the organization

  • Participates in projects related to A/P improvement

  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested within the Payment Team

  • Review proposed payments and prepare disbursement files ensuring suppliers are paid timely

  • Research and process void requests

  • Prepare monthly netting files for Intercompany

  • Manage utility suppliers to ensure timely payments and assist with transition of utilities to other payment methods

  • Maintain high level of customer satisfaction through quality service

  • Work cross functionally and/or with Cummins entities and supplier base to ensure timely payments in accordance with SLA agreements


Skills and Experience Required:


  • Strong knowledge of AP/Purchasing methodology and basic accounting principles

  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem solving ability

  • Knowledge of BMS, Oracle 11i & BOLT AP software preferred

  • Ability to multi-task, work with deadlines and respond quickly to change

  • Strong Customer Focus with excellent interpersonal & communication skills

  • Ability to build & foster a positive, collaborative team environment

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, & Outlook

Experience and Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • High School Diploma (GED) and 5 years AP experience or

  • Associate's Degree in Business or related field & and 2 years AP experience or

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
