This is an exciting opportunity in Nashville, Tennessee for an Employee Benefits Administration Director. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.
The successful candidate will:
Lead the benefits administration function globally, ensuring compliance with regulations in all regions and that benefits are being administered correctly, timely, and effectively.
Lead the execution of both internal and any required external audits of the retirement or health and welfare plans.
Partner with Pension Treasury and Pension strategy on assessing the fund line up of the retirement plan and agree on recommended changes.
Present to senior leadership and internal governance bodies recommendation for changes in administrative practices or operations.
Lead the review, selection and management of 3rd party administrators
Support all global M&A activities.
Partner with Corporate Benefits teams to ensure alignment of strategic and operational work
Engage and support the global CBS HR Leader with strategic planning and initiatives as needed.
Support labor relations team with union negotiations as needed.
Manage Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for CBS Benefits team.
Partner with HRIS on operational automation and technology.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Leads the delivery of employee benefit programs which may include health, welfare and retirement plans ensuring compliance with plan design, company governance and internal controls, and all regulatory requirements.
Ensures delivery of consistent and accurate benefit information and assistance to benefit plan participants.
Partners with human resources leadership to develop and recommend improvements to benefit plan features, policies and plan administration.
Ensures compliance with all government laws and regulations; directs periodic reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Directs the administrative portions of third party provider agreements including contract management and performance metrics; monitors results and partners to lead initiatives to improve performance.
Ensures resolution of complex issues and inquires from employees, human resources, third party providers and other stakeholders.
Develops and improves tools and processes to monitor effectiveness of benefits program delivery.
Ensures delivery of consistent and accurate benefit information and assistance to plan participants; ensures accuracy and completeness of employee benefit plans, policies and process documentation.
Develops and improves tools and processes to monitor effectiveness of benefit programs and program delivery.
Leads implementation of plan and administration changes.
Directs the creation and implementation of education, training and information sessions with human resources and employees.
Ensures accuracy in all aspects of benefits administration, including benefits records.
Coaches and mentors one or two levels of direct reports; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.
Compensation and Benefits Administration - Translates Cummins plan design, statutory and tax requirements in the communication and delivery of compensation and benefit programs.
Compensation Design - Designs and develops programs, policies, processes and tools using appropriate methodologies to advance organizational goals; evaluates market competitiveness, best practice and recommendations for Cummins in accordance with established processes that aid in the design of organizational programs.
Benefits Design - Designs and develops programs, policies, processes and tools using appropriate methodologies to advance organizational goals; evaluates market competitiveness, best practice and recommendations for Cummins in accordance with established processes that aid in the design of organizational programs.
Data Analytics - Interprets information relying on knowledge of business or functional frameworks, and leverages analytical problem-solving tools to draw conclusions and communicate meaningful patterns that drive business insights; assesses quality of data as an initial step of the analysis.

Collaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.

Optimizes work processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Minimum 10 to 15 years in employee benefits administration in a global, multinational organization.
Strong expertise in designing, implementing, and managing health and welfare programs and pension programs.
Minimum five years of leadership experience, managing global teams in a matrix organization.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience required.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
