Software Engineer Senior
We are looking for a talented Software Engineer Senior to join our team specializing in Systems/Information Technology for our Components Business Segment in Nashville, TN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Responsible for building high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design. Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications. Support and/or install software applications. Key participant in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle; Document and demonstrate solutions; Develops flow charts, layouts and documentation
Determine feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions; Understand business needs and know how to create the tools to manage them
Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards and programmingRecommend state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment; participate in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain personal networks; participate in professional organizations; remain passionate about great technologies, especially open source
Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and issues while protecting IT assets by keeping information confidential; Improve applications by conducting systems analysis recommending changes in policies and procedures
Define applications and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities to applications, understand solution deployment, and communicate requirements for interactions with solution context, define Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs)
Understands multiple architectures and how to apply architecture to solutions; understands programming and testing standards; understands industry standards for traditional and agile development
Provide oversight and foster Built-In Quality and Team and Technical Agility; Adopt new mindsets and habits in how people approach their work while supporting decentralized decision making.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
College, university, or equivalent degree in computer science, engineering or related subject, or relevant experience equivalent.
Experience working as a software engineer with the following knowledge and experiences are preferred:- Working in Agile environments;- Fundamental IT technical skill sets;- Taking a system from coping requirements through actual launch of the system;- Communicating with users, other technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines;- Professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.
Experienced in development on modern cloud platforms like AWS, Azure
Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as Java, Python, NodeJS, C, C . Expertise in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
Experience in effectively communicating with remote users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
Experience with integrations and knowledge of integration patterns
Experience with development using AWS Services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, APIGateway, CloudFormation, QuickSight, AuroraDB etc. preferred
Experience with designing and building application using Analytics and Machine Learning services preferred
Experience with Agile project implementation methodology and DevOps preferred
Certifications in AWS or other Cloud Platforms preferred
Knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Curious with an appetite for learning and supporting multiple teams

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
