We are looking for a talented Quality Technician, specializing in Manufacturing & Production work, to join our Quality Engineering Team in North Charleston, SC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Supporting Engineers: Collaborate with engineers to carry out production-related and inspection tasks.

  • Assist in monitoring materials quality in processing plants and make necessary adjustments.

  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping.

  • Defect Identification: Compare the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications.

  • Identify defects and deviations from standards.

  • Testing and Calibration: Conduct simple tests, such as electrical function, reliability, and packaging quality assessments.

  • Provide advanced programming, training, and operation of measurement and test equipment.

  • Perform product and component testing using a range of measurement tools.

  • Measurement Uncertainty Studies: Participate in measurement uncertainty studies related to measurement or calibration results.

  • Analyze measurement processes to identify and quantify sources of uncertainty.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of measurement and test equipment.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Effective Communication: Develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

  • Measurement Science Expertise: Analyze measurement processes across the relevant traceability chain.

  • Quantify sources of measurement uncertainty related to applied measurement science (e.g., chemical, dimensional, electrical, mechanical, optical, radiation, and physical).

  • Laboratory Management Skills: Lead technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory.

  • Use metrics to control both technical and business aspects of the organization. Ensure compliance with relevant certifications and accreditations.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in measurement techniques, calibration, and testing procedures.

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and troubleshoot measurement issues.

  • Quality Management: Familiarity with quality processes (e.g., SPC, capability studies, layered process audits, inspections, and tests) to ensure product and process quality.

Education &Experience

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Necessary Experience:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Experienced with Database Quality Management Systems (DMS, CQMS, LPA).

  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and train others.

  • Basic problem solving & management skills.

Quality

  • Follows all applicable standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), poka-yoke, and visual standards.

  • Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures.

  • Performs quality inspections.

  • Identifies and controls non-conforming material.

Delivery

  • Operates manual and automated equipment to manufacture and assemble products in order to create the proper characteristics and dimensions necessary to meet customer expectations.

  • Demonstrates a high level of competency in core work skills.

  • Achieves production goals.

  • Works at the required cycle time or defined engineering standard.

  • Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks, and performs planned operator care and maintenance tasks.

  • Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet production goals.

  • Works with peers, skilled trades, and support staff to maintain and identify equipment needing repair.

Teamwork

  • Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams.

  • Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements.

  • Participates actively in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
