Inside Sales Engineer – Electrolyzer



At our Oevel site in Belgium, Cummins is developing innovative Fuel Cell and Electrolyzer technologies that can generate hydrogen for various applications with zero emissions - contributing to a safe and healthy environment for future generations.

We have a diverse team of engineers dedicated to the development of existing and future products for customers on a global scale. We are currently looking for an Inside Sales Engineer to join the team. The role will report to the Sales Operations Manager.

Your impact will include:

  • Provide sales support for Cummins products and/or services throughout the sales cycle. May support more complex customer accounts that require adaptation of response or extensive research. May independently develop and capture opportunities for additional sales.

  • Direct Sales (where appropriate)

  • Develops opportunities to sell company products and services by developing leads via telephone or other technologies and/or cold-calling prospects generated by external sources.

  • Drives additional sales through follow-up calls or emails to existing customers for repeat business, cross-selling and up-selling.

  • Conducts negotiations according to company guidelines.

  • Achieves revenue and margin targets. Ensures customer satisfaction through use of the Cummins Sales Process and execution of the sales cycle from lead to sale.

  • Creates and delivers qualified leads to sales representatives where appropriate.

  • Assists salesforce with quotation/RFP management and other sales cycle operations as needed.

  • Builds and/or maintains positive customer relationships that generate loyalty and/or future sales.

  • Maintains accurate sales entry, reporting and forecasting through utilization of Cummins tools and processes (e.g., Cummins Sales Process, Customer Relationship Management systems).

  • Sales Forecasting - Collects and assesses customer data from internal and external sources;

compares against historical data to determine useful inputs and create a forecast of future

consumption patterns.

  • Sales Pipeline Management - Plans proactively for successful execution of account/territory-level



  • Engineering degree (minimum Master level)


  • First Experience in function like engineering, project manager, proposal engineer or similar is a plus

  • First Experience in one of those sectors: Hydrogen, Renewable fuels, Renewable Energy, Energy, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, EPC, Industrial Gases or similar is a plus.

  • Prior experience required. Experience as a quote analyst or another sales support function desirable. Limited travel may be required. Experience with customer relationship management software desirable. Experience with other software-based sales and business tools desirable.

  • Passion for technical solution related to Hydrogen production technologies in particular and sunstainable energy in general.

  • Technico-commercial skills. Strong appetite for elaboration of state to the art technical solutions and proposal in support of sales activities

  • Standard ELY product plateforms (HyStat, HyLyzer500/1000)

  • On request join larger bid teams for Non Standard and/or larger Project proposals (HyLyzer L-XXL)

  • Elaboration of sound and competitive solutions

  • Liaise with client and Peers

  • Committed towards deliverables and deadlines,

  • Customer and solution minded. Detail oriented, flexible

  • Ability to work within cross functional teams, in an international environment.

  • Supportive of co-workers and teammates.

  • Computer skills; strong working knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

  • English is a must, additional languages an asset.
