Installation and Commissioning Engineer

Hydrogenics, part of the Cummins Group is an industry leading developer of renewable hydrogen technology and we are currently looking to hire an Installation and Commissioning Engineer to join us in our Oevel location.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer with a background in electro- mechanics, looking for a hands- on position, testing our products before coordinating their installation on-site for various clients around the world.

You are looking to develop your engineering skills across a broad range of industries and you are excited about the prospect of travelling the world to visit various clients.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • Conduct site surveys in support of proposals, site selection and site requirements definition.

  • Plan, execute and supervise the commissioning to the final handover/acceptance of equipment.

  • Conduct site readiness surveys prior to dispatching equipment and personnel.

  • Take a lead role in resolving installation issues, procedures and methods by working with management, engineering, quality control and contractors.

  • Perform installation and commissioning of new systems within the schedule and budget.

  • Promote efficient flow of information and ensure complete and proper record keeping of commissioned equipment.

  • Lead project staff on location.

  • Institute and direct documentation changes to the work being done when required by site conditions.


  • An engineering degree is preferred, but relevant work experience will be considered.

  • Hands on, practical engineering experience – preferably specialising in Electrical Engineering, including the ability to interpret schematic diagrams and technical specification documents.

  • Demonstrate a tenacious personality and the ability to manage a high volume of customer needs at any one time.

  • Customer focused with a desire to build strong relationships and delivering customer – centric solutions.

  • Results driven, even under tough circumstances.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of the customer.

  • An analytical mind with the ability to interrogate data and from that come up with innovate solutions to potential problems.

  • Willingness to travel globally.

  • English language skills are essential. Dutch is strongly preferred.
