Machine Safety Engineer
Description
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Obtains input from stakeholders such as technical managers, project leaders, other product and manufacturing engineers and supplier partners to deliver information and recommendations that lead to quality product decisions.
Applies academic knowledge and existing experience to take action and make decisions that progress projects forward without sacrificing project quality expectations. Examples of these decisions include day to day project details, analysis or test work instruction details, coordination across discipline areas that are necessary to make quality progress.
Leads product safety function within Electrolyzers Engineering, focusing on compliance with internal and external requirements.
Defines, implements and oversees overarching product safety system (procedures, programs, teams, roles, activities, trainings, reportings and communications) for products and solutions portfolio.
Ensures that the Electrolyzers design (the systems), the stacks and digital solutions design (the subsystems), the components design, and the solutions (the supersystems or projects) are compliant with the Cummins Corporate Product Safety Policy, ensuring that:
The products design is such that the products are safe to use for the described and intended purpose, that are safe to operate, maintain, adjust and repair when used as intended
The product design complies with company-wide and local product safety policies and procedures, safety laws and regulations in all regions where products are sold
Works in coordination with NPBU and Corporate product safety councils, MRGs and Boards as per documentation related in Cummins Corporate Product Safety Policy.
Qualifications
Experience Required:
5 years of experience in FS(typically 15y of experience in I&C and/or Autom. Engineering)
Can be by certification for IEC 61511/61508 creditable organization for 5 years (e.g. TUV Rheinland, Exida, TUV Sud
Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
prior experience in Chemical or oil and Gas process industry
HAZOP / LOPA (experience in participation or facilitation risk assessment)
(Software for SIL verification)
Design of SRS (Safety Requirement Specifications)
Participation in FAT (Factory acceptance test) and SAT (Site acceptance test) (experience)
Functional Safety Assessment studies (FSA)
