About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this dynamic role based in our Perth branch will see you as the main link between management and technicians, so your interpersonal and people skills is crucial to the success of this role. You will be part of a high performing, automotive focused operation servicing customers across mining, on-highway, power generation product applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for about 12 technicians and apprentices

  • Lead weekly meetings and daily tool box pre-start talks

  • Perform basic trouble shooting and diagnostics, trouble shooting and repairs on our customers sites or in the field

  • Be the go to person as our customers technical liaison

  • Keep all records and documentation up to date

  • Engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner

  • Participate in skills and product training to expand your capabilities across our engine range

  • Put safety first, every day

About You

  • Leadership/supervisory experience in any of the following areas: workshop, construction/fabrication, production

  • Excellent communication skills (ability to convey/deliver clear messages and feedback from management to technicians and vice versa)

  • Strong conflict management and people skills

  • Ability to change the culture of the work environment

  • Previous manufacturing experience

  • Strong computer and reporting skills

  • Experience with heavy diesel engines (ideally Cummins)

  • A mature attitude and logical and methodical approach to your work

  • Diesel trade qualification (desirable)

  • Be a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
