Placement - Quality Data Analyst

  • This position resides within a Global Team of Quality Professionals within Cummins Generator Technologies (CGT). The role requires a knowledge of Cummins’ systems (to be developed in position), to be able to extract, analyse and package data to provide accurate and effective reports.

  • Applies developing business process and project management skills to support or lead Continuous Improvement projects within an area of business or technical specialty.

  • Provides administrative and logistics support for the Global Quality team.

  • Serves as a single collation, analysis and distribution point for reliable, consistent & transparent Quality data for the business

  • This would be an excellent entry point for an ambitious internal candidate with the right skills and a real desire to focus on continuous improvement. The role will provide substantial exposure across the business globally and will be a good platform for career progression into a variety of disciplines.

  • Responsible for creating monthly Quality Data Pack and presenting latest status to Senior Leadership Team.

  • Liaise and support the Global Quality Team and other functions, managing packages of work to support critical activities (Warranty, SQI, Manufacturing, Reliability, Finance etc.).

  • Serves as a resource on projects and work assignments; employs basic knowledge of effective project management and general business understanding (to be developed in role).

  • Track quality measures, and work with others to resolve issues (Manage and track actions resulting from monthly reports to drive improvement and data mining to identify ‘early warning signs’ of emerging issues).

  • Maintains project notes, databases, and other records; monitors measures and communicates with Project Manager on status of specific projects and assignments.

  • Attend regular quality reviews and meetings to ensure current status of issues is understood.

  • Provide technical/analysis support to Global Quality Team and other functions.



  • Customer focus – understanding their needs and how to make them successful.

  • PC Skills, including all Microsoft Office Applications (particularly in Excel - should be advanced/expert with Macros, Vlookups, Pivot Tables, dashboards etc.).

  • Experience of using Minitab or other similar software and a high-level appreciation of statistical analysis techniques such as hypothesis testing, regression analysis, ANOVA etc.

  • Previous experience in assimilation and manipulation of multiple data sources into cohesive reports.

  • Presentation Skills (for management, technical and non-technical audiences).

  • Basic Project Management / Leadership skills.

  • Communication skills (the role operates with different functions and business units globally).

  • Attention to detail (ensuring accuracy and clarity in all analyses and reports).

  • Organisation and time management (the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks accordingly).

  • Stakeholder Management And Communication - Identifies, engages and manages stakeholders on a project or groups of projects.

  • Overcomes obstacles and resistance among stakeholders.

  • Effectively stratifies stakeholder needs and creates and executes communications plans to fit the unique needs of each type of stakeholder.

  • Cross-Functional Knowledge - Understands the basic high-level tasks for each functional area on a project.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

The candidate should be studying for a college, university, or equivalent degree, preferably in Maths, Statistics or IT


Minimal level of relevant work experience required.
