We are looking for a talented Workshop Supervisor to join our team specialising in Heavy Vehicle repairs and maintenance for our Pooraka branch. This key appointment is responsible for coordinating Truck Bay (Workshop) activities whilst providing direction to a team of dedicated technicians and apprentices.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead, mentor and coach a team of 8-10 mechanics and apprentices - oversee repairs and sign off on Technicians work

  • Lead diagnostic support and escalation process improvement activities

  • Manage repair strategy and the coordination of parts support

  • Take charge in allocating jobs to staff and ensure timely completion and provide ‘hands on’ support when required

  • Maintain tools register and lead toolbox meetings

  • Ensure tidiness and the upkeep of the workshop and equipment and Adheres to all HSE policies and procedures

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Proven supervisory/leadership experience with a strong technical background – ideally within heavy diesel

  • Significant experience in a workshop environment with Strong leadership and people management skills

  • A certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Trade – highly desirable

  • Motivated towards developing a high performing and professional team and their commitment to safety and providing exceptional customer service

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience. Overtime penalties. Participation in an annual variable compensation (bonus) program. Salary continuance insurance.
