DESCRIPTION

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for preparing insightful BI analyses and reports to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role involves gathering reporting requirements, analyzing complex datasets, and delivering high-quality dashboards and reports using industry-standard tools and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and document reporting requirements from stakeholders.

  • Analyze data and deliver recurring reports and dashboards using Power BI.

  • Perform quality assurance and validate conclusions to ensure accuracy.

  • Select appropriate analytical methods to address business problems.

  • Extract and transform data from various enterprise systems (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake, SAP HANA, Salesforce).

  • Automate reporting workflows using Power Automate, Power Apps, or Python.

  • Collaborate with senior BI analysts and BI leaders to understand user needs and clarify assignment objectives.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding analysis outcomes and reporting insights.

  • Adhere to globally standardized dashboards and reporting best practices.

  • Demonstrate Cummins Leadership Behaviors in all aspects of work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Skills and Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, analytics, or data engineering roles.

  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and report publishing.

  • Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization and data transformation.

  • Experience integrating and analyzing Salesforce data for reporting.

  • Hands-on experience with large datasets and multiple data sources.

  • Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, or Python for workflow automation is highly desirable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.

  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
