Cummins Inc. DATA ANALYST - RISK INSURANCE in Pune, India



Supports Risk Insurance activities through development and coordination of all aspects of the company’s global insurance system and database, Risk Console; responsible for system administration; manages system upgrades, changes and implementation of new functionality with external software vendor.

Participates in the development of Risk Console system design and utilization.

Manages vendor statement of work, contract and vendor performance scorecard; acts as the key liaison between software vendor and Cummins.

Develops annual work plan to support key initiatives through on-going management and development of Risk Console including annual risk insurance renewal/ procurement for all insurance coverage lines and premium allocation.

Serves as functional application expert for system configuration; provides first line system support to internal users regarding functional system issues/ questions, user access management, query and report development, and data extraction.

Acts as the key liaison for vendor technical support and system issue resolution.

Leads system change and upgrade implementations required to support changing key risk initiatives including implementation of new functionality/ modules; provides structured project management leadership to support system change activities; documents functional requirements; develops and executes test and training plans.

Creates and manages data loads between multiple vendor applications ensuring data integrity and accuracy; develops and executes a data load monitoring process with vendor.

Develops and implements a data integrity monitoring plan with various source application owners; audits and reports periodic data integrity status.

Defines and implements data analytics and dashboarding capabilities for global Risk team.

Develops and maintains training documentation; owns and maintains help desk Remedy/ ticket process.

Performs annual Total Cost of Risk (TCOR) development and reporting.

Manages Sarbanes-Oxley Information Technology compliance reviews.

Supports all Risk Insurance system requirements and applications.

Supplier Relationship Management - Manages strategic supplier using agreed process with established work plan, senior sponsor meetings, and scorecards; defines and evaluates a collaborative relationship with a Category Partners List supplier to deliver value to Cummins and the supplier.

Business Analysis Planning - Identifies the activities needed to conduct business analysis considering the five business aspects, level of detail, and approach for eliciting requirements to plan for resources and techniques to document the business needs and solution characteristics.

Insurance Acumen - Leverages insurance and claims processes including type of exposure data required to support Risk Insurance placements and mitigation efforts.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university or equivalent degree required.

PMP certification preferred.


Intermediate level of relevant professional work experience in the field of study required.

Develops and documents standard work processes in support of insurance renewals: Property, Casualty and Executive lines Control Master Programs. Engages US Global Risk staff, Regional Risk Managers, brokers, and other stakeholders to support as required. Lead RMIS training within Risk Insurance team. Supporting Regional Risk Managers - provide customized analytics to engage ABO leadership teams focused on exposure, cost-saving opportunities, risk profile improvement and quality of data. Similarly, provide data-led insights to US global staff to support project specific, and overall risk mitigation and continuous improvement activities.

Actively participate in industry and application specific webinars, conferences, and other events.

Support the development and execution of short and long-term risk insurance strategy by providing data-led insights consistent with improving CMI risk management profile.

  • Prior system administrator or support experience

  • Self-starter with ability to work as part of global team, as well as independently

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Insurance renewal management – replace ‘identifies’ with ‘quantifies risk exposure’
