DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier corrective action processes including containment, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Support and influence PPAP and APQP processes to ensure robust product and process validation.

  • Conduct and support quality audits at supplier and internal sites.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, A3, 7-step problem solving, and AIAG core tools.

  • Design and support VPI (Value Package Introduction) product launch plans.

  • Measure and analyze supplier quality performance and collaborate on improvement plans.

  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members in quality practices.

  • Apply Quality 4.0 tools and digital systems to enhance quality outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical/scientific field (required).

  • Relevant certifications in Quality Management, Six Sigma, or related disciplines are a plus.

  • May require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing or quality roles.

  • Strong understanding of casting, heat treatment, and machining processes.

  • Experience in automotive or similarly regulated industries preferred (3+ years ideal).

Casting Knowledge:

  • Technical feasibility studies, simulation techniques, and pattern design.

  • Understanding of casting types, defects, machinability, and soundness criteria.

  • Proficiency in microstructure analysis, radiography, and welding processes.

Heat Treatment:

  • Knowledge of hardening, tempering, annealing, normalizing, and carburizing.

  • Familiarity with microstructure elements like carbides, retained austenite, and grain size.

  • Experience with induction hardening processes.

Machining:

  • Interpretation of part design and material/tool selection.

  • Understanding of machining features, methods, setups, and tool changes.

  • Knowledge of tolerance, surface finish, and machine/tool limitations.
